I remember when Bennett was put on the top line with Gaudreau (and Monahan) two years ago. He wasn't really able to do much and the experiment faded quickly. He looked much better tonight, albeit against some lesser competition. It helped that Johnny was flying out there -- good to see him in mid-season form.
Thought Rasmus was solid and did not look out of place at all. Too bad he's a right shot as otherwise I think he'd be the clear front runner for the #6 spot. As it stands, Wotherspoon was okay tonight but hasn't made the jump yet like we're all hoping he (or Kulak) will.
Lazar needs to realize the only way he's going to be effective in this league is to start skating like a madman and bringing energy in every shift. Otherwise he's just a fourth line guy who doesn't score, hit or fight.
Klimchuk and Shinkaruk both had good effort tonight but neither appears to be pushing for a roster spot unfortunately. I'd expect both to be back in the AHL pretty soon.
