If you are dumb enough to 'plan' your wedding with little or no wiggle room for something like plane troubles (or weather troubles which are more likely) then you shouldn't be surprised when things go wrong...

Well if you read the article it states that you have to be in Mexico 3 days before you are allowed to get married. On a one week vacation that doesn't give you a lot of wiggle room regardless if you get down there on time or not. Charter flights like this one fly Saturday to Saturday and resorts are booked well in advance and you don't always get to pick the exact date for the wedding that you want. It does make it a bit tough to figure out all the logistics.
I like to laugh at Edmontonians as much as anyone but I do understand their concern. Nobody from Air Transat was there to help them or let them know what was going on. They were basically just dropped in the airport. I would be furious as well. Getting them a plane today might be too late for some people. It isn't those people fault, and they shouldn't have to fix the problem. Air Transat is the one that had the mechanical failures, it is up to them to make things right. So far they haven't done that although it looks like they are making an effort to help them down in Mexico.
These people paid a LOT of money to have their wedding in Mexico. Not too mention all the money their guests paid to go down to join them. I completely see why they are ****ed.
I would be ****ed at Air Transat if they made me miss a day of my vacation even if I wasn't getting married down there.
