People were saying the same thing about Lowe and then look how that ended up for the Oilers.
King's job is to advance positions that benefit the Flames. To push the envelope. To squeeze leverage points. That includes advancing positions that you know are unlikely or, at times, a stretch.
Look at the animosity King is generating. The CP thread is calling for his head. That's being launched at King and only a little bit at Edwards.
I think King is doing exactly what is expected at this point of the negotiation.
