I need to know this ASAP and figure lots of folks will know this. How do I set up html tags for bold?

I think that <b> starts a bold, but how do I close the bold? I tried this but it won't work: /<b>

Please help me out here. If you have a list, that would also be helpful but I need the bold one asap. Thank.
