mm, I guess we could argue semantics. yeah, he's a number one center, but a lower-ended one. I guess I could have used the word elite instead of bonafide, but what I meant was skating is a large part of his game which is holding him back from reaching that upper echelon of centers. he can't create his own offense nor is he a play driver. right now he's more of an elite complimentary top line player (as is Draisaitl) rather than that guy that can you can win with him being your best forward
also, about his skating - horvat has the crosby build. not awfully tall, but he's built like an ox. really powerful legs and it allows him to explode very easily. again, arguing semantics if you want to categorize the coglianos/mcdavids/helms/grabners and mackinnons as "elite" he's that notch right below. it's funny because that was one thing that he notably needed to work on coming out of london and he's been able to turn it into an asset. im hoping monahan can follow suit
