FanRagSports: Treliving asked about possibility of signing Jagr

During a Wednesday appearance on Calgary’s Sportsnet 960, Flames general manager Brad Treliving was asked about Jagr early on in that typical light-hearted sports radio morning show tone.

“You know, somebody asked me the other day where all of this came from and I had no idea. I knew you guys weren’t talking about it,” said a clearly smiling Treliving. “So I’m still trying to trace where all of this smoke was coming from.

“No, I don’t think there’s a whole lot of value for me to talking about guys that aren’t signed. If we ever got to a point of signing anyone, whatever their name may be, then we can get into a whole bunch of discussion about it. But to jump into that, I don’t know if that makes a whole lot of sense.”

With perfect comedic timing, the GM was then asked if he was “keen on 45-year-old wingers,” and that elicited a deep chuckle from Treliving.

“Only if they got long hair,” he replied.
