For what it's worth, two of the players Treliving acquired at the deadline last year are still with the Flames, and will be for the foreseeable future.
Although deadline deals
tend to be rentals, Treliving to date has proven himself to be a longer-term thinker IMO. Just wanted to chime in to assume a deadline deal for a young "D" prospect does not necessarily equate to a short-term rental. But signing Jagr (or Iggy) is decidedly short-term thinking. (Not just because it will be a one year contract, but also because it costs a younger player a spot to prove himself)
