They are sooo bad. Just today I disassembled a few failed ones, and 2 of the 2 TB drives had heads that had cratered into every platter, in the same way. I've taken many drives apart before, and never seen that kind of damage. I suspect the bearings failed, as they were tough to turn. I stopped buying them after I had several 1TB's fail, even after the firmware update that was supposed to save them.
