Cowboy89 - I'm confused by your statement of taking an "activist" position. Isn't a Councillor supposed to take a position and promote that position? I am sure Farrell knows that removing fluoride wasn't a ward-by-ward issue and this is one of those specific cases where it affects all wards, but is she supposed to advocate for other wards? Is that her job? Is it Sean Chu's job to advocate against bike lanes in Ward 8 even though he's in Ward 4?
Issues like Fluoride, secondary suites, and Winter Olympics require consideration for all Calgarians . . . However when it comes to promoting activities within their own ward, they are well within that right. I don't think the Bow River Flow festival is out of her range at all, even if it doesn't make a lot of sense when other locations are more ideal. Rarely, if ever, do politicians make decisions without a political reason behind it.
