I don't know about the bowflex. I prefer spin bikes because they're simple, easy to adjust tension for a high intensity workout. And they're relatively cheap. I assume a tread climber would be about 2-3k used. And it takes up a lot of space. And needs power. And ultimately you're going to require a variety for your workouts or you will just get good at "treadclimbing" and your workouts will suffer. I'd get a curved treadmill for joint preservation and variety, and a cheap spin bike for intensity workouts. There's not much that can go wrong with a curved treadmill or a spin bike.
