Haynes chips in with a great article. Looks like he's on the "yay" side.
Jaromir Jagr: Don't ask Why, only Why Not
Quote:
Also not to be overlooked, Jagr played the full 82 games in 2016-17 and averaged 17 minutes of ice time. That's a lot of hockey so clearly the old man still has some game.
There also doesn't appear to be much evidence over his last two seasons with Florida to support the notion that in his old age, he slows down as the season wears on:
2016-17
First Half - 41 gm, 7-18-25 (even-strength, 3-14-17), 57.10 SAT% Close
Second Half - 41 gm, 9-12-21 (even-strength, 5-11-16), 53.75 SAT% Close
2015-16
First Half - 38 gm, 14-16-30 (even-strength, 11-12-23), 50.95 SAT% Close
Second Half - 41 gm, 13-23-36 (even-strength, 11-21-32), 47.89 SAT% Close
If you really strain your eyes in looking for it, you can find a drop off in Jagr's possession stats in the second half but his production remained the same.
