The problem with this debate is the inability to see the future. If Jagr continues to play every season there will be a year where the wheels literally fall off; its inevitable.
If it's this season then the Flames take a gamble and have a contract that hurts them in a season that has some promise.
If the wheels don't come off this season I see a guy that would have been 6th on the Flames in scoring last year, and 5th for forwards. That's a pretty good plug in for a free agent at the end of the summer. Really it's this season's Versteeg.
