A company that while making it tough for some businesses to compete employs over 200,000 people in the US as of the end of 2016 and is going to hire 100,000 more US employees in the next 18 months (well that was from Feb of this year so they are well on the way).
Retaliation for the Bezos owned washington post who ran a headline of "Trump gives comfort to racists". Also just another appeal to the mom and pop store and coal miner crowd. Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see people struggling but these are economic realities that no amount of pandering or funding or policy change is truly going to reverse. In the long run those things will make things worse as instead of changing the economy or re-training the world will continue to advance without them.
