As much as tennis is a physical game, it's a mental game as well. It's pretty obvious that he was bothered by his wrist and that impacted other aspects of his game (including his serve and his forehand). He was constantly running around his backhand to try to hit as many forehands as he could and that puts you in a tough position as far as court coverage is concerned (and as we all know Milos is not the fleetest of foot).
