Thank you for posting that on here. That poem really has historical significance for Canadians and makes me homesick too because people don't wear them here. Here's a lil story of how I made a new hockey loving friend here just because of the poppy:
Yesterday, I was walking to work, and walked right past a lady wearing a poppy. Cuz I meet so few Canadians here, I got super excited, turned around and asked her where in Canada she was from. She said "Calgary". I said, "sweet, I'm from Alberta too, grew up in Fort Mac". She said "oh, you're prolly an Oilers fan then"...and we proceeded to have our own lil BOA conversation/debate, right in the middle of the street in San Jose. That's Canadians for you
