This isn't that bad of an idea Vinny, and here's why.
In the past, players tend to elevate their level of play while playing with Backlund ( and to a lesser extent Frolik).
Look at Bouma's career year he had and Tkachuk's roomie season was a success. Although we don't have another season or set of line mates to compare Tkachuk's season with, one can observe that Backlund and Frolik did an excellent job utilizing him and taking him under their wing.
We all want to see Brouwer live up to his price tag. If Brouwer plays on that line for the last season or two atleast of his contract, we can perhaps boost his value and garner some interest from potential trade partners
