If Fleury pans out as well, then the Canes start to look like "Ducks West" in their ability to draft and develop their own D core and have it be one of the best in the league.

Fleury has struggled in the past few years. That said, he still projects to be an NHLer and I could see him and Roland Mckeown being their 3rd pairing behind Faulk, Slavin, Hanifin and Pesce.
