They have 6M in cap space, roughly, and still need to sign Conor Sheary. It's doable, but Stajan isn't the type of player you grab if it's going to bring you that close to the cap.

I wouldn't know the numbers exactly, but having Smith, Lack (and for a short time Stone) salaries all be retained to some extent would probably make ownership more agreeable on retaining salary on one of our own players for trade.
Stajan's cap hit(#3.125m) is higher than his actual salary this season ($2m) anyway so half of that shouldn't be a big dent.
