He isn't in jail since 1995 because they messed that trial up, if I am following you correctly. He is currently in jail for a completely different thing, but I think that is what you meant. His current sentence is for over 30 years, and most of that is probably revenge for getting away with the murders.
He was a model prisoner and is getting out early, which I suppose is a good motivator for other prisoners, and probably makes life easier for guards.
