McDavid was also held pointless in a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the Flames on 2 April, 2016.
I don't believe that the accolades of Iginla and co. against the Oilers has any effect on how current players perform, but I am fairly certain that the tremendous success that players like Giordano, Brodie, Backlund, Gaudreau, and Monahan have experienced v. Edmonton does in fact make a considerable contribution.
The Oilers are not "in their head," and I am highly confident that the Flames will play them well this year.
