Sekera is a legitimate top 3 defenseman so don't know how that's a bad contract.
Lucic makes $120,000/point whereas Brouwer makes $180,000/point. Every team has bad contracts.
None of that has to do with McDavid + Drai vs Monahan + Gaudreau though.
