Blacking Out and Sleepwalking
I had a really bizarre experience last night.
I have been sleeping well lately (usually 7-8 hours), but still find myself really tired all the the time. Last night, the last thing I remember doing was making dinner. at about 6:30 pm I do not remember plating it, eating it, or cleaning up after. All of which my wife says I did, although she did say that I looked like a zombie. Apparently I went on to eat half a tub of ice-cream, drank a beer and turned the pool cleaner off outside. Then I went to the couch, watched a TV show, peed in the laundry basket at some point and went to sleep on the couch at about 9:30 pm. I blacked out for about 3 hours. I woke up at 11:30 pm really confused. My wife said she was yelling at me and shaking me, but I wouldn't respond. I went back to sleep and slept for a solid 12 hours and was still dead tired when I woke up.
It's the first time that recall anything like this happening to me. When I was a child, I used to sleepwalk rarely, but I don't remember it so I can't say this was similar. I wasn't drinking or anything. Other than that, I feel 100% healthy except for some high level stress. Stress does typically make me feel fatigued, but this event was excessive.
I will be telling my doctor as I am kind of disturbed that I could function at a fairly high level yet be unconscious. Has anyone else experienced anything similar, and what was the cause?
