Mostly good and positive, overall.
On Smith - kinda meh - neither here nor there. One of the guys said, specifically, that Smith and Elliott are similar quality goalies and he was sad to see Elliott go because of the one horrible goal which could happen to anyone. He did say that fans and owners wanted Elliott's head and he understood why management had to make a change. All agree that even great goalies cannot continuously be great in a vacuum for more than a few-game streaks. Goalie and defense are part of one system. A goalie needs time to get used to defensemen's and coaching styles to play his best. This may take more than a season, unfortunately.
On defense - should be one of the best in NHL next season.
On Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk and Bennett - they absolutely need strong veteran presence and mentoring in the room and on ice.
Think that Brouwer will work hard to recover from the dull season and prove he's still a good player.
On Gulutzan - good honest coach. Hopefully, things work out well before the team's next losing streak.
... So, nothing earth-shuttering or eye-opening.
