My first look at the camp this year as well.
If you didn't know the names you'd come away thinking it was what it was ... a group with better defensemen then forwards because not a whole lot was generated five on five up front.
Kylington really stood out to me, thought he was the best player on the ice, though two heinous giveaways were hard to miss. The way he took control of that powerplay was pretty amazing. His hands in tight and vision are NHL ready. His risk/easy play filter is street hockey level.
Thought Dube up front was a hugely noticeable. On the puck, and constantly putting himself in lanes to get it back. A pain in the ass to play against. He literally killed the first minute of that 7 minute short handed situation his own.
Valimaki looks great. If you didn't know he was 18 you'd assume he was a seasoned AHL guy ready to break in as a quiet mistake free simple play defender. That's a good sign as the offence and puck moving will come, at this level he's already able to play shut down.
Parsons is so quick. I can see what they mean though about over committing at times, but he can work on that. Amazing to see a cross ice pass and then look up and see Parsons already across waiting for it. Slick.
Those were my highlights.
Andersson looked good, but didn't have a lot to work with when he was on the ice. You could see him waiting out a defender but then not seeing anyone skate into the seam to take a pass etc.
Fox unflashy but solid.
