Because when the season starts, and they realize by December that their team is once again no good, and their season last year was a complete and utter illusion, and that their window has slammed shut.
And instead of discussing who Connor will hand the cup to first, they'll be talking about who from the Oilers will be on the stage at the draft.
And instead of planning a parade route, they'll be planning on which bar will have the best draft party.
