The whole point was simply that you were claiming Bennett would not take less than he was currently making, and then listed his potential maximum ELC numbers (which he came nowhere near achieving) as a baseline.
The max salary on an ELC is still $925K, with certain potential bonuses (Schedule A&B) generally available to players taken at the tops of their respective draft classes.
As stated, Bennett didn't meet the requirements for most of those, and accordingly, a $2M bridge is still very much a raise vs his current earnings.
