I honestly believe that if Treliving was handling this, he'd get McDavid signed to a cheaper deal. He has proven to be a masterful negotiator when it comes to re-signings.

Backlund at 3.75 is below market.
Brodie at 4.65 is an absolute steal.
Gio at 6.75 is market value.
Hamilton at 5.75 is below market value.
Monaghan at 6.375 is at market value.
Gaudreau at 6.75 is market value.
Versteeg at 1.75 is a steal.

It'll be interesting to see what Ferland, Bennett and Lazar come in at.

I just think Chiarelli is a piss poor negotiator.
