Chicago brought back Brandon Saad, an elite 25 year old winger.
I'm not getting the "reuniting" comment.
They consider Saad a much better all around player, and considering that Panarin had only 6 more ES points last year than Saad, their offensive difference is much less than expected.
It's Not like they are overpaying bringing these guys back.
Sharp is making $800,000 for 1 year. That would have been an entirely risk free deal for Calgary. Pretty sweet deal for a player who won a gold medal 3 years ago and only has a risk based on injuries, where he can be LTIR anyway. He can even be buried.
