Smith is going to be fine and a great stop gap for two years. The panic is laughable. He's been playing for a brutal Coyotes team and he managed to put up average numbers.
He's going to make the odd mistake and give up a couple of bad goals from over playing the puck, but I also fully expect to see our transition game starting from the back end improve. Elliott was a horrible puck handler. At least this guy will take some pressure off the defence. Cost of acquisition was minimal and Arizona are eating a chunk of his salary.
