oh, and swept the Flames, who continually seem to have a "great defense core"
but Mike Smith is the answer, cause 8th time is a charm

First of all, welcome back!
Second, are you mad? The Oilers have Larsson, Klefbom, Sekera, and...? Nurse? Russell? Benning? Those guys are all 5/6s, at best. It was Cam Talbot who led you guys to the second round. It's also funny that you say '8th time is a charm' with Smith, since I seem to remember these guys all suiting up for Edmonton being praised as the 'next big thing':
Ben Scrivens
Viktor Fasth
Nikolai Khabibulin
Tyler Bunz
Anders Nilsson
Ilya Bryzgalov
Jason LaBarbera
Devan Dubnyk
Martin Gerber
Yann Danis
Jeff Deslauriers
Mathieu Garon
Jussi Markkanen
The Flames have Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie, and Hamonic, all solid top-2 or top-3 guys. If they bring back Stone or bring in Del Zotto, there's a top-4 guy who'll be on the bottom pair with a guy like Andersson.
Yes, the Oilers swept the Flames, but I mean you also beat the Flames a lot in 2010-11 when Jordan Eberle was a rookie and he was being paraded on TSN a lot because he was who was going to haunt the Flames for two decades. I hardly put stock in one season.
"Little Johnny" had a down year. Just wait for next year, mister. And until then, please stay away from here.
