I could see Ottawa doing it because Ryan doesn't really fit on the top line there anymore. The contract is terrible, but more terrible for them than it would be for the Flames as they have RWers ahead of him on their depth chart. For us, he would be plugging a pretty big hole. Just to get rid of the contract would be a win for them.
He wouldn't be my first choice, but the acquisition cost would probably be low. But it would have to be contingent on them either keeping some salary or taking a bad contract back.
