Not just improving defensively. We didn't have d-men under contract (Engelland and Wideman out) so it
needed to be addressed. We have a full contingent of forwards under contract for next season. While there can and hopefully will be upgrades, defense only had the top three and then several important holes to fill. The two situations were very different in that regard.

You're free to think whatever you want, but it's clear the organization felt differently than you do and stated it as such. I agree with them and don't think it's as simple as looking at the goals for and against last year to determine whether the greater need is offense vs. defense.
Hamonic fills a huge need and makes our D bigger and tougher. It gives Brodie a legit partner giving us one of the best top four's in the league at a bargain price. I can see why they put a priority on the D.
