Smith played in +26 games and faced more than twice as many shots on goal than did Raanta last year. The difference in their SP is 0.08, but Smith played on a team that faced +4 more shots than NYR every night.
Raanta is an unknown commodity; it remains to be seen if he is even a starting goaltender.
