It's funny how much media perception can drive value in the NHL- I think actually prefer Demers or Stone even though Hamonic is the one the media is in love with.
Even if Hamonic was what the media thinks he is (he's not) I don't think we should be paying a premium for our #4 d-man - we have a good top 3 already just need a strong supporting cast and not another star.
Over the last two seasons:
Demers

G:16
A:35
P:51

TOI: 20:09
Hits/GP: 1.3
Bks/GP: 1.1
Corsi: 51.42%
5v5 Zone Start: 49.75%
Hamonic
GP: 121
G:8
A:27

TOI: 22:27
Hits/GP: 1.7
Bks/GP: 2.0
Corsi: 48.08%
5v5 Zone Start:47.92%
Stone
GP: 139
G:9
A:42
P:51
+/-: -10
TOI: 21:14
Hits/GP: 1.9
Bks/GP: 2.1
Corsi: 45.50%
5v5 Zone Start: 44.42%
Somebody explain to me why we should be paying a premium for Hamonic, versus trying to just get Demers or re-sign Stone. Hamonics stats are underwhelming and it's not like the Islanders are horrible. Really he is just a more expensive, harder to acquire, and less productive Michael Stone.
