Big thing is Oshie is American. Does anybody really think out of anywhere he could play in the league that he'd pick Calgary? The chances of him wanting to come here are slim and none IMO. I think we can re-sign Americans who have played here and end up liking it (see Conroy.) But to straight up sign an American UFA who's never played in Canada? Just super unlikely. Not gonna happen. Don't get your hopes up. Not realistic at all.

I think the chances of him signing in Vegas are more likely than Calgary. But probably he picks a contending American team and I don't blame him. Very few American UFAs would be looking to sign in a cold Canadian city. I don't think we really need to entertain the idea of Oshie it's so unrealistic IMO.

The only big name UFAs we could attract are Canadian and European IMO. I think we have little to no chance of ever signing a big name American UFA.
