Hamonic is the better player, but as people have said Stone is free should they sign him, and doesn't cost assets - advantage Stone.
I think the contract for Hamonic is the other variable that does a great job in boxing Stone in should he want to come back, as it's only 3.9M for three years. Will Stone go under that and get it done?
Stone could argue he's the better option because he's asset free to acquire. The Flames will say Hamonic is the better player, and makes less than Stone had on his last contract.
Stone at 3.5 and you could argue everyone wins.
