Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 2, Lost = 2 (50% loss)
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 2ms, Maximum = 17ms, Average = 9ms

So I am losing 'packets'. Well ****balls what does that mean. Does that pinpoint the Router? I could care less about buying one but I don;t want to go through the trouble of doing so if that isn't the prob.

The other thing may be interferance. You did say that sometimes it works OK, and other times it sux, didn't you?

Are you using 802.11b/g (they are by far the most common)?

You may have someone elso nearby using the same channel, and that can create issues. In your router, try changing the channel being used and see if that helps before you switch routers (although they are cheap).
