Even if Vegas wanted Brouwer, they'd still be likely to demand extra assets from the Flames. They know they'd be doing us a favour and would want to be compensated for it. Leave no doubt, taking on $14 million of salary liability and cap space is a big commitment from Vegas, regardless of whether they really want the player. This has value and they would push for the Flames to sweeten.
So I'm arguing that if Brouwer goes it wont be just Brouwer, there will likely be a pick/prospect going the other way too. This depends on the assumption that the Flames have indeed moved on and want him gone.
