The plain red jerseys look really good. The minimal amount of gold and more red allow it to look striking.

as a fan (or even me with my business) i can make whatever i want with which ever logos i want. the key is that i'm not allowed to sell the stuff that i make becuz i'm using registered trademarked logos without permission.
every fall there is a trade show for western canada in calgary. the company i get most of my production supplies from has a really cool product that is called 'prisma' - it's two layers of plastic. the first layer has thin bands of colours printed on to it, the top layer is clear and has a bunch of different angles... like a prism. the result is a material that appears to change colour depending on the angle that you are looking at it from.
the owner of this embroidery supply company and i were chatting and came up with the idea of making up a few jerseys that could be displayed at the trade show to show off the prisma material. she supplied the materials needed and i did the rest - all free of charge. the trade show came and went and everything was good... then my phone rang and i had a business man calling me about the jerseys that were on display and this guy was going off - i guess he owned a company that was a registered producer for the nhl. once he found out that everything was supplied and i just put everything together and no money was exchanged he cooled down.
i remember asking him if i was correct in saying that i can put whatever logo i want on stuff, as long as i'm not profiting becuz of the logos it's pretty much fine. he did agree with that. the vibe i was eventually getting from him is that he was choked that what i had made looked pretty cool and he wanted to do the same thing and sell it! ha! ha!
some pics of this prisma material....
