Yeah there's no way he gets the money and lives happily ever after.
I wonder if Chuck's threat to sue plays a part. I can't imagine litigation alone would be enough, given the timeline involved but if he somehow sabotaged HHM it could affect their ability to conduct the Sandpiper case.
