I'm lucky. My commute is pathways except for 5 or 6 blocks down 8th street (by MEC). Even so, I've had my share of run-ins with cars. I've had people pass too closely, slam on the breaks in front of me, roll down their window and yell, try to cut off the side of the road and almost turn into me. Thankfully, these incidents are not too frequent.

I can't imagine having a longer, road-based commute. I'm sure it would be a daily occurrence.
