Is it a matter of tact? "You're an idiot" isn't allowed, how about "your opinion is idiotic"?

We have addressed those posts with the user. One of the reasons it would be helpful if people reported these posts is so we don't have to go back and find all the times they were quoted.
We generally say people should argue the opinion not the poster, though saying "your opinion is idiotic" isn't really a compelling counterpoint so we hope people will choose to do more than that.
