Felt good. I'm slow, and a bit wary of the road sections of my ride. Took me about 40 mins to travel just over 12km, due to numerous traffic stops and my generally slow pace.
My route takes me from around Macleod/Southland to the Elbow pathway, then into the downtown core. I could also take the Bow River pathway (would be about 20km in distance though) and would avoid quite a bit of the road portion. I'm almost thinking it might be worth it, at least maybe when my legs are better and I can keep a better pace. I don't really want to take much longer than 45 mins to commute, if possible.

If you want to avoid roads, you could take Heritage, or the path on the North side of Glenmore, up to the Reservoir pathway and access the Elbow River pathway from there. Depending on where you're heading to downtown, cutting through Mount Royal can be a pretty quick and bike-friendly option.
