Not trying to over react to the shooting this morning, but its something I have wondered (with concern) about over the past 15 years or so as the divide between the right and left and rich and poor seems to be growing at an alarming pace.
Issues that should (IMO) have been sorted out through the democratic process long ago are still major issues in the U.S and have been for decades (see abortion, gun control, basic taxation principles, gay rights, etc.) For example, political platforms are still being formed around abortion rights, a major issue more than 30 years ago for campaigns.
I just don't see the U.S coming to any resolution on these issues at all and the political environment seems to be getting more partisan and more heated. The Sessions hearing yesterday was completely one sided in regards to questioning, with the democrats asking questions, and the republican members trying to make statements so that Sessions didn't have to. It was a complete farce.
I really do wonder if they are headed down a path of more citizen on citizen violence based on political ideologies....much like what we saw today. Scary times.
