Flames (and every other team) had to meet the above requirement. For us Stajan, Bouma and Brouwer meet those requirements, but the forwards who don't are still eligible to be taken by Vegas unless protected.

Thanks - so the games played is only a criteria for a minimum of two forwards. Seems silly, because I can't think of a team which wouldn't have to expose a couple forwards that would meet the criteria, rule or no.
That said, if Shinkaruk is eligible, he's as likely a candidate as anyone. Brouwer is the biggest "name" player and is the most proven performer. If last year might be considered an off-year, they do it.
But Stajan and Shinkaruk can play centre and that's what Vegas needs. I'd probably feel worse about losing Shinkaruk from a team perspective, but worse about Stajan because he has roots here now.
