The Flames aren't great at developing defencemen. But the fact is most defencemen need 2-3 years of development in the AHL before they get a serious look in the NHL. People talk about Anaheim's defence, but Manson, Montour, and Vatanen all played in the AHL until they were 23. It's premature to be pencilling in Kylington or Andersson at this point.
