When Elliott struggled to start the season there's no arguing he had a nice stretch of ten games from late November into December. After that his game really went downhill. I fully realize some fans here have a soft spot for him but Elliott provided the heavy lifting in the 2nd half of the season as the team made its move from non-playoff to playoff team and fans want to run him out of town so if that's the way it is for Elliott then I think it's fair to point out Johnson was worse.
I think we all found out why Johnson has been a career backup and that's because the consistency isn't there so when I say the ceiling is low I mean there's not a lot of upside in that he's a placeholder not a guy like that's going to challenge for a starting job.
