To me it's not the Russia thing he's worried about, I think he's worried about the investigation ultimately leading to other things he's done in the past. I think he's probably insulated himself well enough to have probable deniability with that, but some of the other questionable aspects of his past could come up as this thing broadens out as more associates are investigated. I think this possible firing is ultimately just a bluff as it's too insane to believe he'd pull a move that looks like an admittance of guilt, but then again he is Trump so....
