It's pretty easy to do. Make sure you put the spacers back on top of the stem if you aren't cutting the steer tube(which for testing, I would leave it), as the top nut compressing against the stem is important, even though the stem bolts keep it all tight. Watch a few youtube videos on how to tighten it up properly, but it isn't complicated.
