I do. This year, I'm putting some serious K's on our pathway system with my eight-year-old daughter, so we're getting passed a lot. While an "on your left" is preferable to a stealth pass, a "ding" a couple seconds earlier is waaaay better.

Buy a damn bell for 5 bucks.
